Berlin based illustrator Flix was one of the first ones to create a comic series on the issue of Germany divided and reunified. Quite in time for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 2009. For two years he had been producing newspaper cartoons on an regular basis, which have been exhibited as well as printed and published by Carlsen. Today memories of a border once separating two Germanies are dim and harder and harder to imagine the farther away it all seems. Those who try and remember soon come to the conclusion " ... yes, I seem to remember SOMETHING". Flix's cartoons let his friends and acquaintances – from the East as well as the West – present their personal stories and memories of a Germany once divided. Funny. Touching. Upsetting.
